Acyclovir

Deherp cream 5% 5gm

TAH Drug Code EDHEP
Indications Herpes simplex virus infection of the skin.
Dosing Apply topically every 4 hours, 5 times per day for 5 days in sufficient quantities to adequately cover the lesion. Maybe prolong to 10 days if necessary.
Hepatic Impairment Dose adjustment not necessary
Renal Impairment Dose adjustment not necessary
Contraindications Hypersensitivity to acyclovir or any other component of the product. Hypersensitivity to any component of this product with the topical ointment.
Adverse Effects Common: Contact dermatitis (topical cream, 2%), Diarrhea (2.4-3.2%), Nausea (2.7-4.8%), Vomiting, Headache (2.2%), Follicular conjunctivitis (Ophthalmic ointment, 2-10%), Pain in eye, or stinging (Ophthalmic ointment, 2-10%), Malaise (11.5%) Serious: Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, Hemolytic Uremia Syndrome, Superficial punctate keratitis (Ophthalmic ointment, 2-10%), Renal failure
