After registering, the verification SMS was left unread on the SMS database.

Since I set TextSecure as the default SMS app, I was also unable to delete that message from the database (until I switch messaging apps and back).

Just wanted to confirm this issue. I had the same problem. Additionally, the notification from the old (default) SMS app kept popping up at random times before I deleted the message.

It seems encrypted messages are also left in the SMS database in encrypted form.

The message is correctly decripted, and shows up on TextSecure, but is not deleted from the default Messaging app.

Android 4.4 and TextSecure not set as default.
