Captcha limbo (Cannot send DM upon successful captcha puzzle)

• I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates (there is a 💩 issue with incomplete details - I recommend to delete this one: I can’t send messages and my captcha isn’t showing anymore  #5800)
• I am submitting a bug report for existing functionality that does not work as intended

Bug description

Successful captcha verification on invite 'DM me on Signal' does not result in a successfuly sent DM.

Steps to reproduce

• click on DM link (https://signal.me/etc...)
• write message in signal
• hit send
• proceed to captcha puzzle
• successfully solve captcha puzzle
• return to DMs view, with "verification complete" toast

Actual result: Describe here what happens after you run the steps above (i.e. the buggy behaviour)

• DM is not sent.
• I remain in unsent DM limbo ("send paused" with exclamation mark)
• Signal keeps asking me to captcha solve perpetually

Expected result: Describe here what should happen after you run the steps above (i.e. what would be the correct behaviour)

• Automatically send DM upon successful verification.
• Do not prompt me to keep submitting captchas perpetually, upon successful captcha submission.
