Youtube music vanced not recognized

I'm running simple scrobbler 1.7.0 installed from the play store, with youtube music vanced installed from https://github.com/YTVanced/VancedManager.

I'm on Android 11 on a Pixel 2, and I allowed all requested permissions at setup (battery, notification access, etc).

When I tried signing into last.fm in the user credentials menu it says "Network error, retrying...", I'm not sure if that's related / the cause of youtube music not being recognized.
