From Firefox 48 only the new Geckodriver will be supported. You can try Geckodriver now but the current Selenium version doesn't handle timeouts for scripts (SeleniumHQ/selenium#2279) the right way. It will when Selenium 3.0 is released.
Then the latest release for Selenium uses Firefox dev edition by default when you use Geckodriver. You can change that by config, so we need to fix that but also want it to be released in Selenium (the fix is there but has been moved to 3.0).
Rumour said that 47.0.1 would fix that and ... no. With 47.0.1 the browser opens but navigation doesn't work.

The latest and greatest Firefox (47.0) doesn't work with sitespeed.io. There's a bug that makes the Firefoxdriver not to work.
