ISTR there was some confusion around why sourmash didn't supply a -v option, and used sourmash info instead. I also think that sourmash info could be used to get basic information on a signature or file. Maybe we want to change these things to be more standard (whatever that means :) for 4.0?

I got started on this, and realized that as of #785, sourmash -v did exist! And while I'm not 100% sure info is the right command name, it does provide useful information on sourmash's installation, and I'm sort of stuck on alternate ways to do that. So I think I'm going to close this w/o a fix.

note we can probably fix this conda command to get the version now ... https://github.com/bioconda/bioconda-recipes/blob/master/recipes/sourmash/meta.yaml
