7.2.0 release plan

I intend to release Sphinx 7.2.0 early next week (14-16th; though I'm open to arguments to delay).

Please let me know if there are any features or bugfixes you would like to have included in the release.

If possible I would really like to have this PR in the 7.2 version #11570

The rationale being that the old way of specifying types (List, Set, ...) is now considered deprecated and when using sphinx with the new pep585 builtins generics produces uncomfortably long names (as shown here #11571) making it hard to read the documentation.
