I've been a Python developer since 2009. I've contributed to many open-source projects, most notably the popular SQLFluff linting and formatting tool. I was one of the earliest contributors to SQLFluff (in 2018). I helped build out ANSI and BigQuery SQL support, then went on to develop a number of rules. More recently, I developed key portions of SQLFluff's dbt and Jinja templaters, as well as leading a big push to fix all known SQL "corruption" issues in the project, helping SQLFluff reach the important 1.0 milestone.
I enjoy working on SQLFluff, but during the pandemic, I took a significant pay cut to focus on health and family. Sponsorship will make it possible for me to spend more time supporting and improving the project -- bug fixes, performance, new features, and better support for the growing number of supported databases.
