My most notable open source project is react-currency-input-field, which I started in 2017!

Back then I was a junior/mid level developer, so it was very exciting to work on this and see it being used by others.

As time has passed, not only has the project matured, but so have I—both professionally and personally. With increased responsibilities at work and in my personal life, I've found it challenging to maintain the same level of commitment. Unlike before, my schedule no longer allows for extensive contributions after work or on weekends.

Part of it is because I don't have the mental capacity, as I already do a lot of coding during my day at work. Another part of it, as I am sure most developers would understand, is the excitement to explore and build new projects. If I do find the time, I'd rather channel it into experimenting with something fresh, as opposed to resolving issues and reviewing pull requests.
