I'm currently working on a PhD in neuroscience, but over the past few years I've been trying to expand my programming horizons. As part of that, I've poured a sizable chunk of my hobby time over the past year into building computer assisted design (CAD) tooling hosted under the OCADml organization. This includes OSCADml, an OCaml DSL for OpenSCAD (evolved and broken off from the Scad_ml), and using that to build the parametric ergonomic keyboard generator Dometyl. With more powerful OCaml CAD tooling now at my disposal, I'm currently revamping Dometyl to improve it's customizability, aesthetics, and reliability.
In addition to the Dometyl and personal modelling project driven development of OCADml, I plan to continue to expand the projects under its umbrella, for example, support for front-ends other than OpenSCAD. Eventually I hope to make less niche contributions to the OCaml ecosystem, but this will continue to keep my hands full for a while.
