Howdee. I am Kevin Kabatra. I am a self-motivated and self-taught developer. You can find out more about my background by visiting my LinkedIn profile, here you will see my experience and see my recent postings. Alternatively you can also visit blog, whose topics range from computer science to wood working.
All of my personal projects have been open sourced, and I think all fall under the MIT license. Being a self-taught developer I learnt what I know from watching tutorials or reading documentation. Therefore I believe it is vital that we contribute to open source initiatives so that others may follow in our foot steps.
You will notice by browsing through my repositories that my personal projects range in interest and focus. I often create helper libraries to solve a particular issue that I am working on, or I will develop applications that peak a particular interest of mine and seem like a fun challenge. A favorite example comes to mind, I was reading a book called How To and Randall Munroe introduces how you can determine how thick a swimming pool wall must be based on the materials tensile strength and the amount of pressure from the water itself. I just thought this would be an awesome coding challenge and so over the course of a few days I created a swimming pool calculator.
I hope that you enjoy and can utilize the random bits that I have wrangled together. If you are interested in sponsoring further development on a particular interest please let me know. Otherwise your sponsorship monies will continue to fuel my curiosity engine. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Warm Regards.
Kevin Kabatra
In this first milestone I would like to achieve 10 sponsors. Having this group of people sponsor my work would mean quite a bit to me, as this would further my attempts to develop my interests full-time rather than just as a hobby. In addition, I feel that it would be an indication that my work has helped others in computer science, which is honestly more rewarding than the money.
