Roop Crashing ComfyUI But adding this Fixed. why???

I Recently Fucked My ComfyUI Dependencies and was getting Errors like RuntimeError: Detected that PyTorch and torchvision were compiled with different CUDA versions. PyTorch has CUDA Version=11.7 and torchvision has CUDA Version=11.8. Please reinstall the torchvision that matches your PyTorch install..

After Fixing this error, My workflows would stop working at roop and ComfyUI would crash. roop always worked for me and after the despondency issue getting Fixed, roop became the main issue. the Logs would go as far as this

Now I saw this Fix # #1 (comment) which is I'm sure was unrelated to my issue but i tried it any ways and now it works. can anyone explain what does this fix do and why Roop may have crashed before the Fix?
