On this device when creating a new message in the texting app, I start typing a name and a list of contacts that match appear. You're supposed to be able to hit the down button in the directional pad to scroll through that list, but when I press the down button nothing happens. Don't know if this is a bug or if there's a setting I'm missing that can remedy this. Thanks for all the work this text input method is miles ahead of the horrendous native text input option on this device.

First, make sure you have installed the new v24.0. Before that, there was a problem with handling UP and DOWN, preventing them from working sometimes.

Second, go to Settings -> Keypad -> Select Hotkeys, then make sure no function is assigned to UP and DOWN. If TT9 has taken control over them and is active, they will not perform their default action. By unassigning them you return the full control to Android.

Does this help?

Hey I downloaded v24.0, I set the UP and DOWN functions both to "-". I restarted the phone. The bug is still happening. The up and down function work in the phone's native IME so it's not a Kyocera bug.

Sorry, I fixed one thing, but broke another. It is indeed not a Kyocera bug and I have created #341 for tracking the new problem.
