Summary of suggestions re flashcard ordering/filtering whilst reviewing

Hey there

I'm wanting to enhance the randomization feature whilst reviewing flashcards. So I thought it's useful to first see all the existing suggestions regarding flashcard ordering:

Existing Issues

Ordering

Shuffle cards within multiple decks
Allow to choose whether to review new or scheduled flash cards
New cards first?

Filtering

Choose A or B or random side per review
Filter review notes by tag combination

Done (as part of #751)

Card decks aren't completely randomized
"???" to denote a card that is randomly pulled as reversed - likely completed based on suggestions within the issue and #751

Proposed Implementation for card ordering

There is a single existing relevant setting:

This would be modified to be the following two settings:

Setting 1 - Card ordering within a deck (during review)

This would be a drop down list with:

• Due First (Sequential)
• Due First (Random)
• New First (Sequential)
• New First (Random)
• Random

Setting 2 - Ordering across decks (during review)

This would be a drop down list with:

• Sequential (once all cards in previous deck reviewed)
• Random (once all cards in previous deck reviewed)
• Totally Random

Backward Compatibility

The current random:

• "off" setting would translate to "Due First (Sequential)"
• "on" setting would translate to "Due First (Random)"

Deck ordering is "Sequential (once all cards in previous deck reviewed)" in both cases.
