Obtaining catheter positions? #5

Hi all,

first of all: great work!

This is more of a question than an issue. I am looking for a way to export the 3D coordinates of a catheter during the case. The catheter was not used to create the geometry.

Question 1:
In the exported file the catheter does not appear. Do only catheters used for anatomy creation appear in the export?

Question 2:
There seems to be a second export mode (for backups?) that seems to contain more data. The zip file is also password protected but nobody at the lab knows that password. There is an accompanying XML file with an EncryptionKey but this one does not work either. Does anyone know how to make sense of this?

Thanks so much!
Philip

Thank you, Philip!

Regarding your first question: There is much more information in the exported zip file than is currently being used by the EAMapReader. For example, there are separate files for each and every point that has been acquired - I would think that catheter positions at the time of acquisition could be found there. Have you had a look at the files named something like "1-RVOT_P1_MAGNETIC_20_POLE_B_CONNECTOR_Eleclectrode_Positions.txt" ? (with "1-RVOT" being replaced with the name of your map). I have not looked into this issue in depth, but I guess that these files could help you with your issue.

For your second question: Yes, it looks like the actual backup (as opposed the the export) writes a zip file to disk, as well. This zip file is encrypted and, since this is only meant to be read back into the work station, I do not expect Biosense Webster to publish the (hard-coded?) password which is used for encryption. I am no expert in encryption, so maybe someone else knows what to make of the EncryptionKey in the xml file.

Best regards

Stephan
