HTTP Error 500.0 - ASP.NET Core IIS hosting failure (in-process)

Describe the bug

Server start failed - HTTP Error 500.0 - ASP.NET Core IIS hosting failure (in-process)

To Reproduce

  1. stripe samples create subscription-use-cases
  2. select: "usage-based-subscriptions"
  3. select "dotnet"
  4. cd subscription-use-cases/server
  5. open "dotnet.sln" using Visual Studio Community 2022
  6. run project (IIS Express)
  7. HTTP Error 500.0 - ASP.NET Core IIS hosting failure (in-process) occurs in browser

Expected behavior

sample page should display

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Browser chrome
  • Server environment .net IIS Express

Additional context

this is not only one sample project with this kind of error
but for example "accept-a-payment" works ok
