Follow global system theme - does not work

Firefox: 124 (on Fedora 39)

I have set following settings in preferences:

But the theme won't change automatically (unless I change to manual mode and click the extension icon manually)

Example: In GitHub website I have set it to switch the theme based on system dark or light. We can see that the GitHub website is changing theme but the extension is not working:
