I just realized the reason I'm still using gnome-terminal instead of just emacs is that it's annoying to keep ending up in normal-state in term-mode, and I have to repositioning my cursor to the prompt when I reenter the buffer.
My idea is to unbind ESC (or maybe rebind it to C-ESC or something) so that I will typically stay in insert-state in the terminal and don't accidentally end up in normal-state. I plan to use M-m instead of SPC to use the spacemacs keys.
Does anyone have any idea how I can do this in my setup?
