The homepage can take upwards of a minute to show any data - we should look at moving to better hosting than the free Meteor servers.

we probably need to do this to get notifications to work anyway, but i'm surprised it takes that long. if you refresh it should load quicker.

This was with a few refreshes. It's not always that bad, but every so often it just doesn't do anything.
