This survey was conducted by FiveThirtyEight in 2014 on Survey Monkey. The data set can be found on their GitHub repository.

Key findings

• Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back is the most popular one, with over 750 respondents seen it
• Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is the least popular one, with only about 550 respondents seen it
• more male than women have seen Star Wars
• Among respondents who have seen at least one Star Wars movies, 37% of male see themselves as fans while 29% female do
• movies have more views also receiver better ranks
• contrary to views, male and female don't seem to rank movies differently
• 60+ years old respondents enjoy Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace a lot more than other age groups
• Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope is the most controversial movie
• respondents who don't have highshcool degree seem to give more extreme rankings
