Find new installed apps #208
Comments
It will be better if an ellipsis button is added on the top right corner of the app list, tapping on it will give users three options to select from:

@Amorphous404 Nice idea. |
show new app on top list enough. |
Like in Android it is dynamic the more you use the app it will automatically come upwards this can be a better alternative. |
@solankybasant Bad idea. That would make a mess of it. |
@JacksonCampbell99 won't it save time🤔 |
@solankybasant For most people, their most used apps will be social apps. We don't want those apps to be too easy to access. |
@tanujnotes Many people may prioritize social apps as their most frequently used, but it's important to strike a balance between accessibility and productivity. Restricting easy access to these apps can help individuals maintain focus and prioritize their tasks effectively. Btw thanks for your response 😄 |
@solankybasant Dynamic order would make the order change all the time, which would make it hard to find anything without searching. @Amorphous404 has a great idea with A-Z or new to old or based on usage time, maybe similar to what you're thinking but at least with a stable influence as opposed to a dynamic AI thing. |
Yeah that is also fine 👍🏻 |
I came here to open this feature request but I see I'm not the only one with that problem. I love the idea where the user can choose between A-Z order, usage or installation date. Would having categories be too much? It works certainly help me find apps that I don't know the name of |
maybe dev think we can memorize more than 200 apps using list view :) lol new installed apps is big fight find this... |
Anyone who is actively using 100+ apps should use a launcher that shows app icons. Olauncher is not well suited for them. |
It's not about actively using applications because icons are also forgotten |
Works well for me. Without the typing feature it would be a huge pain, but that's why there's the typing feature. |
The simplest solution I came up with is to add a symbol/emoji next to the newly installed apps. It'll require users to scroll through the apps but the symbol will be fairly visible. What should be the criteria for a "new" app? Installed within last 1 hour, 3 hours or 8 hours? Or more? |
Can you not just add a sort setting like @Amorphous404 suggested? |
@JacksonCampbell99 Too complicated. Maybe later. |
In my opinion, any "new app" formatting should go away the second you open the app for the first time. I would just bold the text to signify a new app. That would still be obvious while scrolling through and it would not destroy the clean look like the star emojis do. |
after first click, not by time. |
@xi7 To do that I'll have to keep track of app opens. That adds an extra level complexity which I don't want to deal with. Time based implementation is easier because install time is already provided by the OS. |
Sometimes ia hard to find new installed apps, specially if name is tricky. It will be nice if we could see the newest installed apps. Maybe something like this:
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
