This proposal achieved stage 3 at the May 2023 meeting. This is a tracking issue for getting stage 4.

  • committee consensus
  • open PR to the spec
    • editors have approved the PR
  • write test262 tests - issue, PR
    • merge test262 tests
  • at least two implementations
  • significant in-the-field experience

I've published https://npmjs.com/math.f16round, fwiw (i realize that for this proposal engine implementations are what's needed, though)

V8 and SpiderMonkey are implemented it behind the flags.

It appears to be enabled by default in Firefox 129.
