The pedal pi definitely does have a lower fidelity sound and some stuttering as it only has 12-bit ADCs and DACs but I wanted that lofi sound. My design has a trim pot for gain if that's what you mean, as does the OG pedal Pi (but mine is a different component as the og is discontinued, you've just reminded me that I need to add a part list to this repository.). I've personally never used modep but I've heard good things, it's definitely a higher fidelity sound, similar to a zoom multi-effect pedal. It may be worth seeing if you can find a pisound alternative or just use a USB audio interface as IMO the pisound is massively overpriced If you are more interested in a project like this id recommend researching the Pedalshield DUE also by electro smash as that's 24-bit which is very good. I haven't found any files etc for this though. |

I read through some reddit posts about pedal-pi and some people mention that the sound quality is not very good and that it feels more like a toy: Low-fi (which I personally think is very nice), but also very noisy/stuttery. I'll include some links/videos here to give newbies some details for orientation.
I also found this, and am pretty happy that she likes the effects and sounds: https://youtu.be/3-Kah1JnDEE?t=407 She also mentions that a trim pod would be better: https://youtu.be/3-Kah1JnDEE?t=643 which might be something to consider.
Here you can hear some glitches/stutters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-Y0HitBXH0
I am wondering how this compares to pisound + modas, which needs a raspi 3 or 4 and a pisound shield (100$):
