upd is in such a pitful state it's hidden (btw, noone gives enough shit to patch it up despite documentation have been done, so yeah)

Doing that right now. Replacing AArt emulator with MAME one due to possible inaccuracies in AArt emulator.
Changing chip name to µPD1771C-017 to make it clear that this is the Super Cassette Vision variant. Implementing tone/noise mode (but probably won't do ADPCM).

I hope that's enough for people to stop laughing at it.

straight up missing features iirc. I didn't know it has been emulated in MAME though. Keep in mind @jvsTSX has meticulously researched and documented the SCV and other uPD-based systems some time last year, including the ADPCM. https://github.com/jvsTSX/uPD1771-Notes . It can be used patch MAME if it is also inaccurate.

Ah, yes AArt's core uses old MAME which has a lot of behaviours on the PSG mode assumed (for the most part assumed incorrectly), waveform mode is spot-on but ADPCM mode is entirely broken and PSG hardly works outside the triple squares

Well, this post actually made me feel a bit better about my own request for some YM chips. Since nobody complained, I suppose my smaller list seemed more reasonable to be considered for addition to Furnace.

Minor correction:
YM7129 and YM7116 (OPK2 and OPK respectively) arent exactly similar to YM3420, beyond that both are nominally 2op FM synths. It also has some drum machine builtin with some sample ROM that YM3420 doesn't seem to have. In general, it seems to be somewhat simpler than YM3420, I would say it's an improved OPLL, close to OPL2 but not exactly like it

Of the sound hardware listed, the ES5503 (through Furnace-B), OPL4, YM2614 (via YM2151), EPSM (via OPNA), CPS3 (via QSound), Watara Supervision APU, and μPD1771C are already in Furnace.

Some of the other hardware can be replicated using Generic PCM DACs, mainly the ones that have sound done in software (Atari Jaguar, N64 onward).

For PS1...you could just duct-tape three Super Nintendos together and call it an SPU. /j
