Is this something you can look at? Would be greatly appreciated. This is how I let my kids play games on the TV upstairs while I work using the host. This issue causes me to work only on the single monitor if they want to play.

Sorry for the late answer, but unfortunately I have to say that nothing can be done here.
The issue with long connecting times (and the complete breaking in your case if your monitor is in portrait mode) exists for several years now.
I assume the issue lies somewhere in the WDDM driver by Microsoft enabling Paravirtualization of the GPU and that is something that only Microsoft could fix.
