Greetings, I have locally adapted the script to render to (base of .blend path)/strips/
usecase: when syncing to other computers using dropbox or similar, rendered strips are not accesible if set to sys user folders

secondly, movie_strip_add accepts sound flag, which will only import video if set to False. This is most common use case

would like to see version number increase for further changes

I think it makes for those options to become user configurable, so I would look up panel registration and accessing values from it in the following days.
