App crashes when opening old or creating new notes #26

I'm using Notepad in Version 1.12 (hotfix), the last Version stored in F-Droid and I'm running it on Replicant OS. Since I have installed the App half a year ago, it always crashed after saving notes, as another user reported before. That wasn' t annoying to me, all the notes were saved perfectly and i was able to read and edit the notes aftewards. Thats all i wanted, great. The situation has changed. In the meantime after having saved 19 notes, the app always crashes whenever I try to open old notes, some of them are very important for me, or even when I try to create new notes. Now my question: Is there any chance to somehow "extract" my saved notes from Notepad to geht my data back? And my 2nd question, will there be an updated Version for F-Droid in the near future to get rid of those far-reaching bugs, which make the app usless? The last version in the play store is ineligible for me as I'm using Replicant OS which for good reasons doesn't support the google play store. I appreciate your previous hard work, and I'd really love to stay with the App if there is any chance! Thanks in advance, best regards, Replican

Hello,
Unfortunately App is not supported anymore.
About notes extraction, do You have any experience in Android Development? I could guide You how to connect Your phone as development device, so it would be possible to extract notes via watcher before error occurs.
If You don't have any experience with Android dev, You could download some SQLite DB manager app for Your device (needs root permissions) so it would be possible to see Your notes as values in DB rows.
I know its not elegant way to handle these errors, but unfortunately I have no time for fixing that, thats why App is not supported anymore.

I wrote this App when I wasn't experienced developer. If I was, I would write much tests that would expose issues like Yours long time ago.

Sorry for troubles.
Tomek
