This error occurred on Sonoma:

hyperkit: A full installation of Xcode.app 9.0 is required to compile
this software. Installing just the Command Line Tools is not sufficient.

Xcode can be installed from the App Store.
hyperkit: The x86_64 architecture is required for this software.
Error: hyperkit: Unsatisfied requirements failed this build.
