This is an add-on for the Anki 2 SRS software to help learners of Chinese, similar to the Pinyin toolkit for Anki1.

If you are having difficulties typing Chinese characters, you may need to configure a Chinese Input Method (IME) in your operating system. Here's how:
- on Windows
- On Ubunt Linux or Mac OS : go to System Parameters->Language settings. You may need to consult your Operating System's documentation.

- Type some Chinese, we will fill in the transcription, tone coloring, and translation for you.
- support for 5 different transcriptions
- support for translation in English, French, and German (through off-line dictionaries)
- support for Chinese Text-to-speech (only Mandarin, through GoogleTTS or Baidu Translate. If you are living in PR China, you may want o use Baidu Translate, as GoogleTTS is often undergoing censorship)
Advanced features:
- intelligent handling of characters with multiple pronunciations (多音字), with lookup of pronunciation in the words dictionary (词典) first (if available).
- advanced configurability of the edit behavior makes it easier for you to hack the add-on.
