I find Tutanota, across all platforms, is frequently slow to process requests, more so than equivalent apps.
Here are some of the behaviours I notice:
The loading dialog appears for a prolonged period of time, then disappears as if nothing has happened. The request has probably succeeded, but only upon closing/reopening the app does the UI update (e.g. email moved to folder, clearing of trash). This is probably the most annoying thing, and is a frequent issue.
The trash email icon takes a long time to update.
Pressing the delete button sometimes results in no action. After closing and reopening the app to see if anything has happened, the "Please be patient" dialog appears, but nothing has happened.
Archive folder sometimes takes an unusally long time to load.
Sending an email with no attachments often takes too long.
Using the slide left/right option on a mail to archive/delete it often has no visible effect (but may have succeeded behind the scenes).
Those are the things I can think of right now, but one of my overwhelming impressions of the app is that it is slow.
I've used Tutanota for a long time and while I enjoy it, the speed is often frustrating, and the above issues undermine my confidence in it.
The "Please be patient" dialog is also pretty annoying and could maybe do with changing. It often appears when I am being patient and waiting for the app to respond, and the message is a bit passive-aggressive.
I'm not filing these as issues as they're too hard to pin down, and they seem like general network issues rather than anything specific to the apps. I'm sure my connection does play a role here, but Tutanota seems to be an outlier in the email apps I use.
