Hi,

This is the discussion for feedback, feature requests and general thoughts for the first alpha release of the uhppoted-app-home-assistant custom component.

The first alpha release is a "whew, finally got it basically working" version and is not in the least complete, polished or finished and almost certainly has bugs.

The roadmap from here on is roughly (not in any particular order):

1. Add support for off-LAN controllers
2. Restructure internally to use async-await
3. Add support for access control lists (ACLs)
4. (probably) rework the uhppoted custom component as a device hub
5. (possibly) implement custom UI cards to improve the user interface
6. Submit for inclusion HACS (at this stage there is no particular intention of submitting it for inclusion in Home Assistant core)

For anyone interested in trying it out with HACS, even though it is not in the HACS repository, you can still go into HACS, choose Integrations, choose the 3 menu dots on the top right, and choose "Custom Repositories" and enter "https://github.com/uhppoted/uhppoted-app-home-assistant"

It will still track updates and function as if it were a part of HACS

Am planning to start on the off-LAN controllers at the start of April - it's probably going to take at least a couple of weeks though (will post an note as soon as it's ready to try).

Here ya go - v0.8.8.1 with support off LAN controllers.

I tried that, and with each version, I get The version x.y.z for this integration can not be used with HACS

Ok, having dug into this a bit it turns out that HACS now needs a hacs.json file - I've created an issue to look into that.

hacs.json file added in v0.8.9.3 - should be installable via HACS 2.0 (and this is now the recommended installation in the README).
