Move the indicator to the quick settings #16

Sorry for the late response. I've been busy lately. Having an option for this would be nice, but I think burying it inside the quick menu would be a regression in terms of ease of use. More clicks to achive the same functionality. Also even if I decide to implement it, it won't be an easy task and I'll need more free time. So I'm not sure if it worths the effort. Of course it would be great if someone else takes the job to implement it and create a pull request for it. Or maybe in the future I can return to this. But unfortunately I'll keep this issue open for now. |
Appreciate all your effort on this super useful addition to GNOME! I want to chime in and second @heshamgamal410 in this request. It would help keep the top panel clear from clutter and wouldn't be an issue for ease of use, in my use case. This isn't to pressure you, of course, just to show that there is interest in this modification when you have the time. |
Hi! I've got a basic prototype working. I'll be forking it soon (tm) and sharing my changes! |
Currently, I have the menu moved under a quick setting tile. Also, I have the tile set up to toggle global bypass when clicked. However, it's currently showing the opposite state. I'd like to bind the subtitle of the quick setting tile to the currently activated preset as well. I'm fairly new to developing GNOME extensions, but I've done my best! I'm going to look into how to monitor the state of the gsetting when I get the chance. Here's the fork: https://github.com/VelocityDesign/eepresetselector! |
@VelocityDesign gosh, that's looking good! I wanted to work on this for a while but unfortunately I've been travelling a lot for my job lately so I couldn't settle down to do any side quests Can you open a pull request draft so it's easier to track the overall progress? |
@VelocityDesign bump :P |
Adding a toggle to choose between top panel or quick settings would be appreciated.
