It doesn't seem like there is a tool for extending the range of a wireless controller. It would be useful if only the controller was forwarded to the Xbox; such is my case where the Xbox is in an AV closet and connected to an AVR. The TV has the Xbox video and the AVR outputs Dolby. The controller is slightly out of range for the room the TV is in. I can remote in via the Xbox app or greenlight and that works well (also allowing all games to be played unlike xbplay). Unfortunately, when connected remotely to the Xbox, Dolby is disabled and lower quality audio is output (probably due to processing power). I wonder if Microsoft has a way to circumvent this.
I am a computer engineer with C/C++/hardware/RF experience and willing to help as well
