"Reset" The Media as if its being used for the first time

Since I seem to be having crashes very often after opening the first file (webm but not gifs), is there a way to reset it before opening the next one?
As if the application is closed and opened again, basically.

I already tried quite a few ways of opening and closing the media, but it still ends up crashing the same; not even a try/catch saves it
