Animation for the current time #489

The current scrub time is updating it seems every 1000ms. This causes the current scrub width to be rather jumpy since it jumps 4-5% each 1000ms. Is there a better way to make the animation of the current time smoother? I tried adding CSS animations to it but I couldn't get the desired result. Any thoughts?
