Sorry, but i have never tested it with a cloud version as I've used a hosted solution. Should've mentioned it in a readme.
Looking through the documentation, it seems that password auth is not supported: email should be used instead of a username and token instead of a password. Could you please verify that u're supplying the correct arguments?
The only other thing I can think of is the absence of 'Content-Type' header, but it shouldn't be mandatory as there're lots of examples without it.
When trying to connection to the Confluence, using API token and user-name, it returns with Bad Request.
