Dotnet packaging work

Hi,

I'm opening a general discussion here as it seems more appropriate to report on the work than an issue. Plus, a lot of work has been done with the help of those like @ayakael and @Anachron to get this where it is today and I wanna try to consolidate the notes so it is easier to understand where we are and what we need to do next. That being said, here is where I stand as of now:

• As of this morning, I had successful builds with both dotnet6 and dotnet7 targeting x64. The template files have been updated in the staging repo for reference.
  • Extra thanks to @ayakael for the helpful builds over at https://lab.ilot.io that I was able to piggy back off of to speed up things.
• For dotnet6, I had to explicitly set the target rid to get the runtime to build successfully. I didn't need to do it for dotnet7 but I'm wondering if I should anyway to keep things consistent. Thoughts?
• I stopped trying to pull the prebuilt artifacts file from Microsoft as I was having difficulty trying to locate the correct ones for the latest revisions. I think this is what @ayakael has been referring to with the "stage0" package for Alpine Linux but need to look at the notes for this again to make sure. Dotnet still builds without this predownloaded but I'm not 100% sure that this would be acceptable as it downloads the files during the prep stage and I don't know if that is the right approach for this.
• For musl, when I tested it the last time, it built successfully but failed during the package process because of a missing lib symlink in the musl package. Attempts of getting around that wasn't successful. I'm going to take another look at the Alpine Linux package templates for musl-libc again and see if I can do something else about it on the Void Linux side.

After the work for 6 and 7 is completed, I want to turn my attention to dotnet 8. Based on previous notes, I believe the starting package for version 8 onwards will be here: https://github.com/dotnet/dotnet . I haven't had a chance to look into this deeply yet but it's on the next step to do list.

Again, would love feedback on this from those who are interested to make sure we are still approaching this correctly.

Firstly, thanks for picking up the pieces!

As you are well aware I've tried getting dotnet into the repo several times but due to my lack of understanding on dotnet could only get so far.

While I do believe dotnet6 and dotnet7 should be packaged first I can't help but realize most applications are already on dotnet8, at least those I use or am looking for to use.

That being said, if you need help testing any of the versions on either x86_64 or aarch64 let me know. I am still very interested in making this happen and for ironing out bugs.

Once dotnet is packaged I will probably upload some templates that are building locally with a precompiled dotnet currently.

@Anachron - If you could test the dotnet6 and dotnet7 templates on aarch64, that would be most helpful.

As far as dotnet8 is concerned, it should be a priority. However, they changed the way they did things and I'll need time to see what is needed to build dotnet8 and future versions.

Of note, I've moved the dotnet tarball to my own instance available here: https://ayakael.net/mirrors/-/packages/generic/dotnet/v6.0.133

Albeit, dotnet6 will be EOL soon, so dotnet8 should be focused on. Tarball is available directly from Github and Release manifest (release.json) should be fed into build.sh via --release-manifest argument.
