can we use notebook server extension with voilà standalone?

Hello, 1st thanks for voila: this is a really neat idea and implementation!

I have a question: I would like to reuse a notebook server extension with voilà stand-alone: is that possible?
1- Does voilà has the concept of extension?
2- Can it reuse extensions built for notebook server (the python side)

The custom request handler extension would be a good example of such kind of extension I would like to use.
