Crowdsourcing can be problematic but it's a good source of information when there is none
VOST Portugal's crowdsourcing projects like the one used for the Fuel Crisis showed that the information is useful to populations and official entities alike
To design a new platform each time there is the need to collect data is time consuming
SOLUTION
To develop an all-in-one platform that allows to, via backoffice, to configure what kind of crowdsourced data is needed including attachments (pictures)
To deploy this platform in a micro-website dedicated to the activation (ex: sms.vost.pt)
REQUIREMENTS
Admin site
Allow the admin to create entries for data needed
Allow the admin to upload the icons used for the maps
Allow the admin to set a title for the microsite to be displayed in the header along with the VOSTPT logo
Dashboard
Graphics showing total number of entries, entries per district, entries per council
Graphic showing evolution during time of entries
Export data to JSon & CSV button
List of entries updated in real time
Map of entries updated in real time
FrontEnd
Map based interface with forced geolocation (without geolocation the user won't be able to add information
Ability to visualize entries by others but with no personal data showing
Popup asking for data when clicking on an empty space in the map
Data validation and entry
