🍁 Usage

useDate function import.

import { useDate } from 'vue-use-date';
const { format, timeAgo, getDate, utc, timezone, difference } = useDate('Type a here....');

🛠️ Setup

🔑 Step 1

src/dayjs.js

Open a file named as dayjs.js inside the folder of src and add the codes below. The reason adding dayjs.js file is customizability of dayjs library.

dayjs.js

import Vue from 'vue';
import dayjs from 'dayjs';
// For the other language options, add "dayjs/locale/{langCode}"
import 'dayjs/locale/tr';
import 'dayjs/locale/ar';
import relativeTime from 'dayjs/plugin/relativeTime';
import localizedFormat from 'dayjs/plugin/localizedFormat';
import utc from 'dayjs/plugin/utc';
import timezone from 'dayjs/plugin/timezone';

dayjs.extend(relativeTime);
dayjs.extend(localizedFormat);
dayjs.extend(utc);
dayjs.extend(timezone);

Object.defineProperties(Vue.prototype, {
  $dayjs: {
    get() {
      return dayjs;
    },
  },
});

🔑 Step 2

Import dayjs.js file inside main.js

main.js

import Vue from 'vue';
import App from './App.vue';
import VueCompositionApi from '@vue/composition-api';
// "dayjs.js" imported
import './dayjs.js';

Vue.use(VueCompositionApi);
Vue.config.productionTip = false;

new Vue({
  render: h => h(App),
}).$mount('#app');

🚀 Example

Example.vue

<template>
  <div id="app">
    <p>{{ dateFormat }}</p>
    <p>{{ timeAgoFormat }}</p>
    <p>{{ getDateFormat }}</p>
    <p>{{ differenceFormat }}</p>
    <p>{{ utcFormat }}</p>
    <p>{{ timezoneFormat }}</p>
  </div>
</template>

<script>
import {ref, computed} from '@vue/composition-api'
import { useDate } from "vue-use-date";

export default {
  name: "Examples",
  setup(props) {
    const date = new Date();
    const langUnit = ref('en')

    // The useDate function is added and the desired properties are used.
		// The parameter sent from useDate represents the language option.
    const { format, timeAgo, getDate, utc, timezone, difference } = useDate(langUnit);

    const dateFormat = computed(() => format(date, 'LLLL')); // Friday, April 9, 2021 11:47 PM
    const timeAgoFormat = computed(() => timeAgo(date, '2021-04-07:23:00'))  // 2 days ago
    const getDateFormat = computed(() => getDate('date')); // 10
    const differenceFormat = computed(() => difference(date, '2018-06-05', 'day'));  // 1400
    const utcFormat = computed(() => utc(date, 'LLLL'));
    const timezoneFormat = computed(() => timezone('2014-06-01 12:00', 'America/New_York', 'L LT'));

    return {
      dateFormat,
      timeAgoFormat,
      getDateFormat,
