Logging Improvement Ideas

  • Use more structured format
  • Use case: Trace transactions from client through vulcan to upstream.
  • Outputs: Basic-JSON, systemd-journal, Logstash/Graylog.

Sounds great, one of the reasons this is really handy is that having this stream will enable trouble shooting of backend issues. This will be especially valuable if you have multiple backends mounted in the proxy.

As far as outputs go I would also suggest syslog as a starting point.
