Could we switch license to W3C Software and Doc license? It would make it easier for me to contribute again.

Clearly LICENSE still says MIT, what was the reason behind 112e8fe?

BTW, I'm considering a migration to a Rust-written Wasm library that can be shared with ReSpec, Bikeshed, and more. What do you think? (It's in super early stage in https://github.com/saschanaz/weedle3/)

TBH I don't really know about license differences, feel free to change it.

I just ran into this as well, the "license" field in the package.json should be the SPDX identifier actually representing the license text in the LICENSE file.

If LICENSE has an MIT license text inside (which it does currently), package.json should state

"license": "MIT"
