In mdn/browser-compat-data#15345 we have seen that there's no machine readable information about which events fire on which interfaces, whether they bubble, what interfaces are used, etc. This information isn't generally machine readable in specs, but could be useful to tooling.

Could there be a webref package for this, similar to @webref/elements?

We had some exploration on extracting data on this from specs w3c/reffy#772

Are you suggesting collecting the data manually and releasing in a webref package or something else?

I think we could extract some parts automatically, and have a bunch of checks that ensure that we've filled in non-automatable data correctly. All event interfaces can be inferred from IDL, and some event types (the strings that are event.type) could be extracted from tables in some specs, notably HTML. But what the event target is and whether events bubble, that I think would have to be manually filled in. It's mostly a one-time cost however.
