Description

Carry-over investigation of the accessibility investigation. Previous proposal: #211. Possible scope extensions: Custom highlight, Text fragments.

Rationale

Browsers should investigate and work towards generating consistent accessibility trees from the same DOM + CSS. Additional investigation and testing infrastructure for accessibility testing is still needed.

Apple has been heavily involved in Interop Accessibility since the initial investigation in 2023, and intends to continue participating for the foreseeable future. Call this a strong +1 for the carryover investigation.

Thanks for @ChrisC from Bocoup for championing, and to all the others involved.
