Last week we held our biweekly triage call (#8497) and I will post the meeting notes there in a bit. The next one is scheduled for December 22, 3 pm PST. Note that this is 2 weeks later in an APAC+America friendly time, and 1 hour earlier as discussed. This will be our last triage meeting in 2022.

People interested in attending the next call please respond here or reach out privately to me or the spec editors. We will be tagging issues for the next call again using the agenda+ label and we would like to invite anyone that can contribute to said issues to join us.

Hey everyone, since I haven't received any RSVPs for this meeting and most of the usual attendees can't make it, I will be canceling it in the next couple of days. If you were planning to attend, please respond to the calendar invite and we'll keep the meeting if a substantial number of people show up.

Since nobody was going to attend the December 22 meeting I went ahead and canceled it. The next meeting will be on January 12, same time (3 pm PST).

Thanks everyone for attending! Here are the notes from this meeting (the next one is at #8723):

Agenda

  1. Review past action items
    1. Emilio to investigate :user-valid and :user-invalid
      1. Carryover for next time.
    2. Tab/Elika to comment on the :blank issue
      1. Done.
  2. Carryovers from last time
    1. [Anne] Align with DOM DocumentFragment adoption changes
      1. Carry over.
  3. New topics
    1. [Scott] Add the <search> element
      1. We are looking for volunteers to fix the WPT library dependency issue. Another option would be to write simpler tests for now to unblock and then write the better ones.
      2. However, we really shouldn't do the simpler-tests option twice and create lots of tech debt. And indeed selectmenu does have parser behavior changes, so probably the selectmenu folks will need to fix this.
    2. [Emilio] Details and summary styles don't match implementations
      1. https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/b19830c6b22f73758862d34d2c64f57735890e90/layout/style/res/html.css#737-753
      2. Domenic/Mason/Joey will take a look.
      3. Leaning toward changing the spec to match implementations but need to spend a bit more time to feel comfortable.
    3. [Mason] New feature proposal: Popover API (now here)
      1. Discussed event naming (toggle vs. popovertoggle) and settled on toggle. Joey will make the agreed upon changes.
      2. Domenic to communicate back to the new PR thread.
    4. Mason asked for reviews of the declarative shadow DOM PR. Olli started reviewing it.

Action Items

  1. @past to bring up this meeting slot next time with @annevk to see if we can have someone from Apple participate.
  2. @domenic / @mfreed7 / @josepharhar will take a look at Details and summary styles don't match implementations.
  3. @josepharhar will make the agreed upon changes on the Popover API proposal and @domenic will comment on the new thread.
