Going to go ahead and close this, since there is an alternative fix using css override. |

The previous docs were some of my favorite! Centered content and sidebars, each hugging a side of the browser.
The new docs have centered content with the left sidebar in its original position, but the right sidebar has been moved to hug the content. For me, and I realize it's subjective, it's very distracting and makes is difficult to focus on the main content, so much so that I want to install and use the old docs for now. I don't normally mind change, but this was jarring.
I did use the right sidebar when I needed to find something or skip to another section etc, but not often enough to justify its prominence and "clash to be seen" position up against the main content. It's also creating some space lopsidedness, where on the left I have ~3 inches of space between the left sidebar and content, but on the right it's like half an inch; there's less uniformity and balance and the whole weight of things feels off, to me.
Note: I realize other people may not like uniformity or evenly spaced layouts like me, however, and that people have different sized screens and what may look "less than ideal" on my monitor may look great on another, but I can only give my perspective on the matter as I see it, on my hardware. Perhaps people with really large monitors have a lot of distance to cover with their mouse or something.
One option to potentially solve this would be to put it back the way it was; sidebars fixed on each side of the browser, up to a certain screen size, then perhaps bring them in a bit from the sides. Another option, which may be a bit more of a compromise, for advocates on either side of the "layout street", would be to do what Github does (this discussion, for example). They slightly off center the content and then center both content and right sidebar as one unit. It's a nice compromise when one wants the right sidebar to hug and to also have mostly centered content as well.
They don't have a left sidebar, however. So you'd have to give that a try and see how it flows with relation to the left sidebar in its original position. If that didn't work out, another option would be to hug both the left sidebar to the content, like you're doing with the right one and then center all three horizontally as one unit, leaving a bit of space on the outside of each sidebar. Then adjusting space between each sidebar and the main content accordingly; giving them large gutters to be less distracting as to not be fighting so much for prominence with the main content.
Anyway, I realize I don't always get what I want and that other people in the community may prefer this new layout. If that's the case, I'll adjust or come up with my own solution, by all means, but I hope the docs team might consider taking another look?
Thank you!
ETA
Maybe for now, I'll install a CSS Override extension into my browser and adjust it that way. That's easier than messing with my own version of the docs. I'll leave this open in case it ends up being a common complaint, however.
