Cpanel caldav error: "Empty reply from server\n"

Hi,

My hosting company provides me a server with WHM/Cpanel.
With Thunderbird Lightning Calendar I can sync my calendars, also with DAVdroid on my Android phone. These are all using the caldav protocol.

Now I'd like to connect to this calendar from my own PHP program with simpleCalDAV, but I get this error:

[ERROR] Error requesting https://myserverurl: Empty reply from server\n
Exception: Can't reach server

Any ideas?
