Xamarin.GooglePlayServices.Maps with .Net 6

I created a new project xamarin android .net 6 and added nuget package "Xamarin.GooglePlayServices.Maps" latest version 117.0.1.3 and it generates 100 build errors like:

JAVAC0000 error: package com.google.android.gms.common.api.GoogleApiClient does not exist
com.google.android.gms.common.api.GoogleApiClient.ConnectionCallbacks, D:\x\SB. DroidX\obj\Debug\net6.0-android\android\src\crc6434af9c19aa01b597\GoogleApiClientConnectionCallbacksImpl.java 8

Is there additional configuration needed for .net 6?
