Rendering ignores Video Calibration (Overscan) Settings #40
Comments
Overscan issues shouldn't be fixed in Kodi at all. Overscan is a relict from very very old TVs. If you have bought a modern TV (let's say in the past 10 years), then overscan should be disabled at your TV (read the manual for that). Most likely those settings are hidden in the zoom options or your TV has a "PC mode" or something like that. Using the video calibration inside Kodi will only cause a lost of native resolution which should only be used as the very last resort. If you have problems finding those settings, please share at least the brand and the exact model of the TV you are currently using. If your TV is too old (we will know after you have shared that info), we might probably still either need a debuglog and/or also screenshots which will show your problem. |
Ah thanks for the response. This use case is actually on a projected system which needs some fine adjust to align the image to a temporary screen, which means scaling is either happening on the project or in kodi. It's not a high priority issue, just wanted to bring it up in case someone wants to take a look. |

If you adjust the overscan settings with the video calibration tool, the projectm rendering window is the correct size but it is not offset accurately (it appears in the top left corner instead of in the center).
