Welcome to the StoneAge wiki!

Image

This mod gives you the feeling of being a man from the stone age. No more magically created planks from wood logs; the way to your first crafting table is long and dangerous. In prehistoric ages, animals were not domesticated, and the same applies to this mod. There are no cows, sheeps, pigs, or chickens. Instead you'll find their ancestors (aurochs, mouflons, boars, and fowls), all of whom are quit upset when you attack them or their friends.

New blocks

  • Flint workbench - Allows you to craft primitive tools & another useful things. To craft an item from the workbench, right-click it with a flint knife.
  • Drying rack - Necessary for drying grass.
  • Tanning rack - Used for tanning raw hide. Right-click raw hide with a flint knife multiple times until leather is produced. Then right-click with empty hand to remove the leather.
  • Stone chest - Doesn't have much space, but still useful.
  • Tree stump - If you want planks, you must chop your logs first!
  • Aqueduct - Allows you to transfer water nearer to your crops. To activate watering with the aqueduct, right-click it with an empty hand. You should then see bubbles if it is activated and has water. Activated aqueducts also randomly apply a bone meal effect to nearby crops and grass.
  • Dried grass bed - Not as soft as a wool bed, but you can still sleep there.
  • Feeder - If you want your animals to grow faster, you definitely need this.
  • Millstone - Necessary if you want to mill your wheat to flour or sugar canes to sugar. Shift-right-click with an empty hand to insert or remove items, then right-click to activate the mill. Your item will be milled after four rotations.
  • Fishing net - Used for catching fish and other items. Just place in water and add a grass or cobweb mesh.

  • Auroch - Ancestor of cows. All aurochs around will attack when you hit one of them.
  • Fowl - Ancestor of chickens. All fowls around will attack when you hit one of them.
  • Mouflon - Ancestor of sheep. All mouflons around will attack when you hit one of them.

New structures

  • Abandoned camp - A long abandoned camp with tanning and drying racks, a bed, a flint workbench and chest with a few items that were left behind.

Another useful things

  • You can make fire by dropping dried grass the on ground and right-clicking with a stick in your left and right hand.
  • Wild animals can be bred to their domesticated (vanilla) forms after three generations. The generation of the child is calculated as the minimum of the two parents' age plus one. Thus, do not breed children with parents, as their generation will stay the same.

Changes to vanilla

  • Crafting table - The crafting table can only be crafted and used after you have managed to breed cows, sheeps, pigs and chickens.
  • Wooden tools - All wooden tool recipes have been removed. You must craft bone tools instead.
  • Torch - It is not possible to craft lit torches. Instead you must first make fire and then right-click the fire with an unlit torch.
  • Bread - Cooked in a furnace from bread dough.
  • Fences and Fence gates - Can be crafted in the same way as in vanilla on the flint workbench.
  • Slabs and planks - Put stone or log on a tree stump and swing (left click) two times with a hammer (for stone slabs or an axe (for wooden slabs).
  • Bone meal - Can be made on a tree stump by crushing bones with a hammer.
  • Leather - Can be made by tanning rawhide on a tanning rack.
  • Sugar - Milled from sugar cane.
  • Campfire, Hay block, Bow, Arrow, Furnace, Lead, Leather armor, and Stone tools - All of these items can be made in the same way as vanilla on a flint workbench
  • Planks - Can be made by chopping logs on a tree stump with an axe.
  • Wooden items can only be harvested with an axe.
